Born from silence and color, this artwork is a mirror of the soul—an account of truth where beauty and sorrow meet, shaping the architecture of human emotion.
Art is not confined to canvas alone; it is the unfolding of thought, history, and the human spirit. I walk the path where color converses with memory, where form questions truth, and where silence holds meaning. As a visiting lecturer at the University of Visual and Performing Arts, I seek not only to teach but to ignite visions—bridging the worlds of tradition and the contemporary.
My journey has carried me across nations—Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Mauritius, Mexico, South Korea, Turkey, Italy, Poland, Japan, France, and Egypt—each exhibition a dialogue between cultures, each canvas a testament to shared humanity. From the grand halls of Sielecki Castle in Poland to the vast gathering of 391 artists in Busan, South Korea, I have stood amidst voices of creation, contributing to the symphony of global art.
With 48 exhibitions across nine years, my work is not a pursuit of recognition, but a continuation of the eternal question: what does it mean to see, to feel, to be? Beyond the brush, I write, research, and counsel, weaving together the disciplines of psychology and visual art, seeking always to uncover the architecture of the human heart.

3+ONE – Group Visual Art Exhibition (Curated by Sudarshi Ranabahu), San-Melie Contemporary Art Gallery, Sri Lanka, February 20 – March 22, 2026. The exhibition brings together four contemporary artists whose works in painting and mixed media explore themes of memory, identity, transformation, and socio-cultural narratives within Sri Lanka’s evolving art landscape.

The Light of Garnets – Solo Exhibition by Sudarshi Ranabahu, Harold Peiris Gallery, December 20–21, 2025. The exhibition presented a collection of mixed-media works exploring themes of resilience, identity, and transformation through layered textures, painting, and intricate surface techniques.

The Master of Fine Arts Degree Show 2025 of the University of Kelaniya showcased the artistic achievements of 31 postgraduate students. Held under the patronage of the Vice-Chancellor, the exhibition brought together a diverse collection of contemporary Sri Lankan art. From late June to early July 2025, visitors experienced bold explorations of identity, culture, and creativity that reflected the future of Sri Lanka’s fine arts.

The International Art Exhibition and Competition at Sosnowiec Art Center’s Sielecki Castle in Poland brought together renowned and emerging artists from around the world, celebrating cultural diversity through contemporary visual expression.

Organized by the University of Mexico and the Conservatory of Fine Arts (C.U.C.B.A.) in Venezuela, the Celebrity Women exhibition at the Carlos Sanchez Gallery explored representations of femininity, identity, and influence through contemporary visual art. The showcase highlighted diverse interpretations of women as cultural icons and subjects of artistic dialogue.

Over the past nine years, I have participated in 48 group exhibitions both locally and internationally, with my work showcased in India, Bangladesh, Mauritius, Mexico, South Korea, Turkey, Italy, Poland, Japan, France, and Egypt. Notable highlights include the largest international exhibition at Sielecki Castle, Poland, and the Busan exhibition in South Korea featuring 391 artists.
My work explores themes of memory, resilience, and human emotion, particularly the universal experiences of first love, heartbreak, and renewal. I have been recognized with several honors, including the Arab International Art & Literature Award, the Da Vinci Appreciation Award, and the Kala Vibhushana Award.
BIOGRAPHY
I (born 1991 in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka) am a contemporary visual artist whose practice explores the relationship between art history, cultural heritage, tradition, and contemporary artistic experimentation. I currently serve as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Visual and Performing Arts, Colombo 07, while also working as a researcher, curator, author of books and articles on visual art and art history, and a psychological counselor.
My artistic practice is deeply inspired by my family’s Naide (නයිදේ) heritage and my academic background in Art History and Theory. Through traditional Sri Lankan decorative motifs, historical photographs, natural pigments, archival imagery, and mixed-media techniques, I reinterpret elements of the past through contemporary processes. By combining historical methods with modern technology, I create layered visual narratives that connect cultural memory with the present, exploring how tradition can be preserved, reimagined, and given new meaning within contemporary visual culture.
I have participated in more than 32 group exhibitions over the past nine years, both in Sri Lanka and internationally, including exhibitions in India, Bangladesh, Mauritius, Mexico, South Korea, Turkey, Italy, Poland, Belgium, France, and Egypt. Notable exhibitions include the International Arts Exhibition at Sielecki Castle in Poland and a major group exhibition in Busan, South Korea, featuring 391 artists. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree specializing in Visual Arts from the University of Visual and Performing Arts and a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Kelaniya, alongside diplomas in History, Archaeology, and Psychology.
